EXCLUSIVE: eLZhi Interview With Ya Girl AC !

eLZhi, no explanation needed. One of hip hop's greatest emcee's took the time out to speak with me. We chopped it up about his current projects 'The Leftovers Unmixedtape' and Slum Village's 'Villa Manifesto', as well as the passing of J Dilla and Baatin, how he was able to use Dilla's beats. If you recall eLZhi took time out in 2008 while promoting The Preface to check in with theurbandaily.com eLZhi spoke about Dilla's estate drama:

There’s some drama, some issues and hopefully it’ll get resolved real soon cuz that man worked hard for his empire. The people close to him deserve to reap the benefits off of what he put out there and I don’t think [Dilla's mother, Ms. Yancey] is getting what she deserves and I hope it goes down well. And I hope it goes down soon. It’s crazy how certain people can be cold hearted toward certain situations and I hope it gets resolved real soon.

A highlight of our conversation was about his upcoming projects and working with Black Milk, another artist on my 'List of Greats' to interview. The Preface is considered by many as one of the best hip-hop albums of 2008 and all time for that matter. I can only speculate that his upcoming project and work with Black will fall in to the 'Best Of' category. Check out the full interview below.


Although I met eLZhi last year at the Rock the Bells Music Festival in Chicago, this interview is definitely a personal achievement. I have an undefined amount of respect for eLZhi and Slum Village for creating and staying true to hip hop, with out succumbing to the commercialized hip hop genre of "music".

MY INTERVIEW: Dr. Ian Smith

Dr. Ian Talks with AC about Happiness during emotional or economic hard times, Exercise, Sex, Celebrities and Music.

Dr. Ian Smith always looks pretty happy, even when he’s berating guests on “Celebrity Fit Club” who can’t get their weight loss strategies together. Maybe it’s good health - or maybe it’s that Dr. Ian knows what it takes to be happy.

Now, he’s sharing his insights in his new book, “Happy: Simple Steps to Get the Most Out of Life.” Smith says that the key is to appreciate the little things in life. He found out that despite all the material advantages that many people have in the United States, it is not the world’s happiest country. That distinction belongs to Denmark.

“They believe they’d like to have it all, but accept that they can’t have it all,” he told the Atlanta Journal-Constituion, “so they’re grateful for what they have and don’t think about what they don’t have. In the U.S., people always want more. They’re never satisfied.”

In “Happy,” you can expect to find that happiness has nothing to do with money or beauty, fame or shopping. Nope, not even losing weight necessarily makes you happy, though it’s possible that if you’re healthier overall, you can enjoy life more.

Dr. Ian touches on several keys to happiness in his book. They include:

- How to be optimistic
- Why optimism and realism are not opposites
- How to get outside yourself
- The importance of family and community
- Why involvement leads to contentment
- Shedding the treadmill mentality of getting and spending
- Tapping the power of simple pleasures
- Mastering modern life to live in the moment
- What we can learn from the Danish people
- How to be, not just to do

Smith uses scientific research to prove his points and makes the case that happiness is somewhat set by genetics, but that much of what allows you to be happy is in your control. If he can do for happiness what he’s done for health, then he’s probably on to something.

Dispatch reports said shots were fired at the Old Navy at 35 N. State Street shortly before 11 a.m. Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez confirmed that two people have been shot.

VIDEO: Floyd Mayweather vs Shane Mosley Highlights + After The Fight Interview

Las Vegas Floyd "Money" Mayweather defeated "Sugar" Shane Mosley by unanimous decision improving to a perfect 41-0-0 with 25 KOs.

With the exception of some hard rights landed in the second round, Mosley was completely outmatched by the younger Mayweather for most of the fight.

"Sometimes you're going to get hit with big shots, you have to suck it up and fight hard like a warrior," Mayweather said of the second round where he seemed to be stunned. But he more than recovered in subsequent rounds.

In a very lopsided contest a more efficient Mayweather landed 208 total punches to Mosley's 92. They threw 477 and 452 punches respectively.

The question remains now if Mayweather will finally fight Manny Pacquiao. The undefeated fighter insisted that he would fight Pac Man but only if he submitted to a blood and urine test.

"I just want to fight on an even playing field," he concluded. "I want to be treated fairly."

Swizz Beatz has a two year old daughter with Moscow born singer Jahna Sebastian.

The two allegedly met at London famous club Ministry of Sound in August 2007. All her attempts to contact Swizz Beatz after realizing she was pregnant failed. So she did it with the help of her lawyers.

In July 2009 Swizz Beatz had to come to London to take the paternity test (it is reported that Alicia was there as well) and the results proved that he was indeed the father.

The singer who now resides in London addresses that since then she gets no financial support from her famous baby daddy.

Obama Makes Unaccounced Trip to Afghanistan

(CNN) -- President Obama made an unannounced trip to Afghanistan on Sunday.

The president left his Camp David, Maryland, retreat for the trip and flew to Afghanistan on Air Force One, landing at Bagram Air Base at 7:24 p.m. (around 11 a.m. ET).

Obama then flew on a helicopter to the Presidential Palace for a meeting with Afghanistan's president, Hamid Karzai.

The two presidents took part in a 10-minute arrival ceremony before walking into the palace.

In a briefing with pool reporters on the trip, National Security Adviser James Jones said Obama would push Karzai to improve efforts to meet benchmarks for better governance in his second term, which began last year.

According to Jones, Obama planned to point out that more attention was needed to certain issues -- such as a merit-based system for appointing key government officials, battling corruption and taking on narcotics trafficking that helps fund insurgents.

Overview
On March 28, 2009 our community suffered a tragic event.
Our 700 elementary school students have permanently lost their school!

Benld Elementary located in a small rural community about an hour northeast of St. Louis, MO and about an hour south of Springfield, IL was built about seven years ago. The damage from mine subsidence happened throughout the school, forcing it to be condemned. This was not an ongoing issue, the damage (as you see in the pictures) happened in one weekend and it's expected to get worse. The walls are twisting and cracking, floors sinking and rising, in many different directions and basically as the building is sinking it is being torn apart.

The rural communities in this area developed as mining became its key resource many years ago. The school, as well as a majority of the homes, businesses and other buildings, were built over the top of these mines that are hundreds of feet under the ground.

How will the 250K be Used?

Budget Notes: The other $21.5 million dollars that the school district needs because the state has a cap on the amount of insurance money that can be granted due to mine subsidence.

A sender using the Tiger Text application can set how long they want the message to stay on a recipient's phone before it is deleted for good.

Prayers Out to A.I. and His Daughter

Allen Iverson's career has been put on hold indefinitely due to ongoing issues with his daughter's health.

In a statement, the Sixers confirmed that Iverson has been given a leave from the team indefinitely to deal with a personal issue related to the health of his young daughter.

''At this time, we feel that it is in the best interest of the Sixers, Allen and his family that he be allowed to deal with a very serious issue that is far greater than the game of basketball,'' team president and general manager Ed Stefanski states.

Sixers' coach Eddie Jordan addressed the team on Sunday (February 21), telling players that there was a chance Iverson would not return to the team.

Iverson missed five games and the 2010 All-Star Game in which he was voted to start in earlier this month to deal with his daughter's health problems.

At press time, the timeframe of A.I.'s absence as well as the problem ailing his 4-year-old daughter Messiah has not been disclosed

Sources have confirmed reports of the company releasing a DVD on "Macho Man" Randy Savage. According to sources, the three-disc DVD set will not feature a documentary on Savage as it will simply be a collection of matches featuring the wrestling legend.

The fiancee of actress/signer Jennifer Hudson, reality television star David "Punk" Otunga, has started appearing on Florida Championship Wrestling shows. He appeared at last night's television taping to help break a brawl between DH Smith and ECW wrestler Tyson Kidd. Otunga is going under the name "Dawson Alexander Esq." in FCW. He wrestled his debut match at a show outdoors a few weeks ago. Otunga recently appeared on the reality series, I Love New York 2, and was in the next-to-last episode as one of the final contestants. Several weeks ago, Otunga took a leave of absence to be with Hudson in light of tragic events surrounding her family.

Scarface Out Of Retirement; Making New Album

The drop of Emeritus was supposed to be the swan song and the final curtain call for rapper Scarface, but even his statement of stepping out of the game had to be retracted as he is returning and already preparing his next album.

Making quick rounds, Face has already tapped into talents such as John Legend for his upcoming release, which has yet to be titled and without a scheduled date to drop.

During an interview with HipHopDX, producer Mike Dean chopped it up and gave an update on where Scarface is at with the next project.

“It's sounding good. We just scored a feature from John Legend on there. I hooked him up with John, making sh*t happen. I don't know what's up with the album or a release date or anything, we're just working on a few songs right now. For the last few albums, I haven't had much on his albums because we haven't been in the studio together. He'll do music somewhere else and bring it to me."

It was only 2008 when the rapper said he was going to hang up the microphone and that Face was officially dead. He was adding that he was looking to give back and start producing for other rappers.

Already locking down the likes of Lil Wayne, Kanye West and potentially Jay Z, the engine behind the Canadian rapper might not be large enough to snag an appearance from Sade.

Springing back onto the scene from her usual musical hiatus, Sade dropped Soldier Of Love, but had made sure to have minimal press following her.

In regards to a possible collaboration with Drake, a discussion with The National Post revealed that Sade hasn't even spoken to anyone in the rapper's camp.

“I don't think they have contacted me. I've never collaborated because I've always avoided working outside my safety zone — I can be exactly who I am and can fail or success within the moment. I feel safe working like I do. I wouldn't want to work in a situation where I am expected to deliver because I think I wouldn't deliver.”

Janet Jackson used her Twitter to announce that she and ex-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri have teamed up to record the theme song for her next film, “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too?”

Titled “Nothing,” the song also features Bryan-Michael Cox as a producer.

An early morning earthquake rattled northern Illinois on Wednesday, shaking an area about 50 miles west-northwest of downtown Chicago, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The magnitude 4.3 quake hit just before 4 a.m. CT (5 a.m. ET), with an epicenter about 3 miles underground. The USGS pinpointed the quake between the towns of Virgil and Sycamore.

Several callers to CNN said the quake shook their homes severely, but there were no immediate reports of major damage.

The Obama's Bring the Show to the White House: Concert Special

Facing another wintry wallop, the White House decided to move a concert celebrating civil rights music from Wednesday to Tuesday night to beat what could be a second crippling storm in a week.

The White House announced that Wednesday'' concert would be performed on Tuesday because of storm threatening to dump another heavy load of snow on the nation's capital, where the federal government has been shut down for days. President Barack Obama planned remarks, and first lady Michelle Obama was also set to attend the event, which transformed the formal East Room into a concert-style stage.

Smokey Robinson, Bob Dylan and Joan Baez planned to perform, along with Yolanda Adams, Natalie Cole, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, John Mellencamp, Seal and the Blind Boys of Alabama. The Howard University Choir and The Freedom Singers also were set to perform at an event featuring remarks by Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Queen Latifah.

The concert was to be televised at 8 p.m. Thursday on public broadcasting stations nationwide as part of the ''In Performance at the White House'' series. National Public Radio also planned a one-hour concert special from the event to be broadcast nationwide on NPR stations beginning Friday.

According to New York Post, Idol producers are keen for Stern to take over from the tough-talking music mogul when he leaves at the end of the talent show's current season.

''It's one of the few shows that could compete with Stern's $100 million-a-year Sirius contract, and Idol bosses think he'd be even nastier than Simon,'' a source said.

''They know he would be great TV and would clash with the other judges such as Ellen DeGeneres and the contestants. Idol will do what it takes to sign him.''

Stern's exclusive Sirius XM Radio deal expires next January and he recently said -- on his show -- that he was open to other offers.

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Warren Sapp was arrested in Miami on Saturday night for misdemeanor domestic battery!

Sapp has been accused of violently attacking his girlfriend, who police noted had "a swollen right knee and bruises on the back of her neck" when they arrived at the Shore Club Hotel early Saturday morning.

The former NFL player's girlfriend says Sapp attempted to throw her out of his hotel room, and when the two began quarreling, he "grabbed her and began to choke her."

The explaination for the chocking?

Sapp has told the police he wanted his girlfriend to leave their hotel room because

"he was expecting company."

Nelly Debuts Customized 2011 Ford Mustang

I’ve always loved the Mustang; the vehicle has power to the point where you can’t help but want to hit the pedal. And the newest one? More power, more style.”

Nelly’s Ford Mustang GT has a new 5.0 liter V-8 engine, which gives 412 horsepower and 390 ft.-lbs of torque.

The car is scheduled to be displayed prominently on the cover of the rapper’s next album.

“I’m itching to get behind the wheel of my Mustang and really take it out on the streets,” Nelly said. “This vehicle being a part of my album artwork is just a reflection of the direction and feel the album has. To be able to partner with Ford again on another vehicle that is going to change the automotive game is exciting.”

Nelly’s DUB Edition Mustang GT is scheduled to debut this Spring.
